In search of the perfect workout routine

With all the craze to find the perfect workout or diet plan, I’ve decided to ditch my lackluster, occasional routine and settle on one plan that suits my workout needs.

I have many friends on p90x, a 90-day plan that caters a workout and diet routine to fit your body type and weight loss needs. From what I’ve seen and heard, it’s a great way  to get you in shape and lose the weight before bathing suit season. However, it’s quite pricey to start the plan and you must abide by the rules: follow the nutrition plan and do the workouts…90 days straight. Do I really have time to workout everyday for the next 90 days? My instinct says no. Once again, I predict another failed workout and diet plan.

Another option I’ve researched is the Women’s Health Perfect Body Diet. I’ve done this one before but didn’t really devoted myself fully to the program. This plan gradually makes the workouts more difficult, performing a mix or weights and strength training routines starting two days a week that increase to four days a week. After several weeks of performing the workouts (which can be completed at home), I did notice some toning in my upper body. However, my problem areas include my butt and thighs. So no help there.

I set a goal to start my new routine as soon as we get to Las Vegas. With two weeks and counting, I hope to find the ideal workout to get in shape and tone me up for the summer. I never knew that finding a good workout plan would be so difficult! All help and advice from my workout devotees would be very helpful!

Hey girl – I’m in the same boat. But I’ll tell you that I have one of the Perfect Body DVD’s, and I basically just stood there the whole time thinking that I was NOT going to work up a sweat with this workout. Get the Jillian DVDs! Or any of the Biggest Loser ones. I blogged about Biggest Loser vs. Skinny Bitch Bootcamp yesterday.

You’ve done it again. This is fantastic! I especially love the ice sculptures in Beckenridge. Let me know how the workout goes. Motivation is definitely lacking on my end.

Jillian Michaels workouts are awesome! But I’m sending her back to Netflix in favor of P90X. I’m just doing the workout routine and eat decent — not trying to follow a super strict diet. I love the workouts. Except I think 1:30 of yoga is ridiculous. I only did 1 hr.
